Starting Off - November 14, 2013
I've often thought about having a blog but then I think about the time and energy it might take and lose steam. Being a work at home mom (WAHM) to two daughters age 3 & 1 trying to balance kids, home, graphic arts, Etsy shop, interior painting projects, and the random craft/painting/diy project is exhausting enough. Well, due to my oldest starting school and a little change in my work schedule I decided it was time to just start it and see what happens. I figure I'll keep is small, simple and incorporate it into my current website. If it goes well I'll launch into the inter-webs more so.
Some of you know me a bit. If I've painted a room in your house, I've spent time with you. Doing a personal project like that I like to get to know my clients. Some of you only know me from a few emails but if I've done a custom mobile/diaper/design project I feel like I know you. I like to think about the little ones I'm making a mobile for while I work on them; what they might think while they watch the birds (or airplanes or dogs or whatever) float around. And some of you just know me from post and photos, so here's me in a nut shell. I'm a creative person but paint is my favorite medium. I probably own as many pairs of painty pants as non-painty pants. I used to do at least one interior custom painting project a month but now I spend more time getting painty with my kids than clients. Eventually I want to get back to that but for now I'm happy focusing on my girls and various side projects. I love custom projects. Too often I've looked at things I've done and thought, I bet I could sell that but I don't like to make projects unless I know they are going to be used by someone. Having things laying around waiting to sell take up too much space!
So what am I going to blog about? Not really sure! But I'm a creative person and I like to share that creativity with my girls and maybe I'll like sharing it with you too. I'll post on here Etsy custom orders, room designs and in progress painting, and whatever little projects I make with (or for) my little artists. Here we go!!
